The biggest impact Manus Curriculums had on our school was the confidence it gave our staff in delivering highly effective instruction.
Allison O., Special Education TeacherIt started with a challenge every special educator knows.
Early in my special education teaching career, I had to work long hours to individualize instruction for each of my students who had varying levels of achievement and a wide range of neurodevelopmental barriers. There were no practical tools available then to efficiently customize instruction.
When I started my after-school tutoring service for students with learning barriers and later my school, Manus Academy, this challenge of constantly creating individualized lessons increased exponentially when I had to prepare lessons for all my teaching staff. I soon realized that I had to build a long-term solution to help students flourish and enable my teaching staff to organize instruction efficiently.
This necessity began a decades-long process of heavy research, attending special educational conferences, hiring consultants and developing, testing and refining curriculums. In these years of development and revision, I built curriculums that were far more comprehensive, in-depth and explicit than other teaching programs on the market.
Today, the same curriculums are available to educators around the world.
