Most curriculums leave the task of customizing instruction to you.

As a special educator, you must follow a labor-intensive process of:

  1. Assessing achievement levels and determining where to start instruction

  2. Understanding each student’s unique barriers and the best way to teach him or her

  3. Adapting teaching materials and providing accommodations

  4. Monitoring progress and adjusting instruction

  5. Figuring out what to do when learning breaks down

Teachers need curriculums that make this process easier so they can spend more time helping students learn well and make measurable progress.

Fully absorbed in the lesson and learning for its own sake

Meeting the challenges of the lesson

Feeling good about their performance

Experiencing the satisfaction that comes from success

When teachers have the right tools, instructional decisions become clearer, students participate more successfully and measurable progress follows.

Hi, I’m Rosanne Manus.

Early in my teaching career, I saw firsthand how labor intensive it was for special educators to provide every student with the individualized instruction he or she needed.

With limited time and resources, we were expected to adapt lessons, create accommodations, monitor progress and respond to a wide range of learning barriers. So, I began developing curriculums that made that process easier.

At Manus Academy, my special education school, I designed, tested and refined every lesson through decades of classroom teaching, observation and research. The result was an instructional system that helped students with learning barriers participate successfully, build confidence and make observable academic progress.

Today, that work has become Manus Curriculums, which provides teachers, tutors and schools with those same classroom-tested resources so they spend less time adapting instruction and more time helping students succeed.

About Us

Built in real classrooms.

For more than 40 years, Manus Curriculums has been tested, refined and used in real classrooms. Here’s what educators have to say:

Compared to other curriculum I have used over the years, I can honestly say that Manus Curriculums has saved me valuable time by preventing the need to reteach skills or “figure it out” on my own. I’m so grateful for this!

Amelia B., Homeschool Educator

The reading and spelling system has allowed me to individualize instruction for each of my students. I’m getting more out of them than I did before.

Jane T., Special Education Teacher

The biggest impact Manus Curriculums had on our school was the confidence it gave our staff in delivering highly effective, evidence-based instruction. Teachers were able to focus more on student learning and less on lesson development while maintaining consistency across classrooms.

Allison O., Special Education Teacher

As a homeschooling parent, Manus Curriculums gave me the tools to educate my child with ease. The materials are user-friendly, systematic and comprehensive. My child can experience success without frustration, even in more challenging subjects.
